Chapter 8 - The Arrival

Six weeks later, on a snowy morning in late February, Claire was admitted to the private maternity wing of Mount Sinai Hospital.

At thirty-four weeks, Dr. Reyes decided it was time for a scheduled C-section to ensure the safety of both Claire and the triplets.

Julian Vance sat in the private waiting suite outside, wearing a fresh suit, holding three giant plush bears—one pink, two blue.

Inside the operating room, soft classical music played. Dr. Reyes and her elite surgical team worked with calm, master precision.

"Alright, Claire," Dr. Reyes smiled behind her surgical mask. "Get ready to meet your family."

At 9:14 AM, a sharp, loud, healthy cry rang through the room.

"Baby A is here! A beautiful, healthy boy!" the nurse announced.

Thirty seconds later, a second cry joined the first—even louder and more demanding.

"Baby B is here! Another strong, healthy boy!"

And at 9:16 AM, a high-pitched, sweet cry echoed through the room, completing the symphony.

"And Baby C! A perfect, gorgeous little girl!"

Tears flowed freely down Claire’s cheeks as the nurses cleaned the babies and wrapped them in soft, warm blankets. One by one, they laid the three tiny bundles onto Claire’s chest.

Claire looked down at her children.

The two boys—whom she named Alexander Vance Marlowe and Nicholas Vance Marlowe—had soft tufts of dark hair and strong, tiny fists. The little girl—whom she named Victoria Claire Marlowe—opened her tiny eyes, revealing deep, bright blue irises that looked straight into Claire’s soul.

"Look at you," Claire whispered, her voice trembling with unimaginable love, kissing each of their tiny foreheads. "Look at what we built. You are safe. You are loved. And the world belongs to you."

The three babies cooed softly, their tiny heartbeats resting against their mother’s chest in perfect, unbreakable harmony.
