Chapter 10 - THE MORNING SUN
One year later.
The afternoon breeze rustled softly through the leaves of the old oak tree in the backyard of a charming two-story house on the outskirts of the city.
A wooden swing set sat on the green lawn, decorated with bright blue ribbons.
Laughter filled the air as guests gathered for Noah’s first birthday party.
Near the picnic table stood Dr. Maya Bennett, pouring glasses of lemonade for Mark Vance and Sophie Reed. Sophie was thriving, her confidence restored, working alongside Maya in the newly opened Morgan Maternity Wing.
Across the lawn, Rachel Morgan walked through the grass, holding tiny Noah by his hands as he took his first wobbly, independent steps toward the swing set.
"Look at him go!" Mark laughed, leaning against his cane. "That boy’s going to be a sprinter."
"He gets his strength from his mother," Maya said, smiling warmly as she watched them.
Rachel knelt down in the grass, opening her arms wide. "Come on, Noah! You can do it!"
