Chapter 8 - The Queen of Rossi Tower

One year later.
The top floor of Rossi Tower was bustling with international delegates, legal team members, and high-ranking business partners.
Dominic Rossi sat at the head of the massive mahogany conference table—the same table where twelve interpreters had failed him a year ago.
Beside him sat Maeve Nolan Rossi, wearing a tailored cream suit, holding a tablet containing international trade agreements worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The Rossi family had completely transitioned out of illegal activities, becoming one of the most respected legitimate logistics and trade conglomerates on the East Coast.
Anthony Rossi, now healthy and running the company's maritime division, walked into the room with a warm smile, placing a cup of tea in front of Maeve. "Thanks for reviewing those Italian port contracts, sister."
"Anytime, Anthony," Maeve smiled warmly.
Dominic took Maeve’s hand beneath the table, squeezing it gently.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Dominic announced to the board members. "Before we begin today's meeting, I would like to announce the appointment of Maeve Rossi as Vice-Chairwoman of Rossi Global Enterprises."
The room erupted into enthusiastic applause.
Maeve looked out the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking down at the city skyline below. A year ago, she was a quiet cleaning lady making fifteen dollars and seventy-five cents an hour, invisible to the world, scrubbing blood off an imported rug.
She had used her voice to save lives, break an empire of crime, and build a legitimate future.
Dominic leaned over, whispering into her ear in flawless, accented Italian—a language he had practiced for months just for her:
"Ti amo, mia regina." (I love you, my queen.)

Maeve smiled, turning her head to kiss his cheek, and replied in eight different languages, ending with a soft English whisper:
"I love you too, Dominic. Forever."
