Chapter 6 - The Fall of the House of Chen

The rain began at 2:00 AM, heavy and relentless, slicking the tarmac of the Incheon shipping estate.

Lord Chen—a powerful, white-haired man in his sixties—sat in his opulent mahogany study, furiously making calls on his encrypted satellite phone. Outside his mansion, the floodlights illuminated dozens of armed men standing guard along the perimeter walls.

"Pick up, you fool!" Chen growled into the receiver, trying to reach Victor in Busan.

The line remained dead.

Suddenly, the lights throughout the massive estate flickered once, twice, and died completely, plunging the mansion into pitch darkness.

The low, heavy rumble of heavy engines echoed through the rain.

Lord Chen rushed to his window. Through the torrential downpour, he saw three armored black SUVs smash through the heavy iron gates of his estate like paper. Dozens of men dressed in black tactical gear poured out of the vehicles, moving with terrifying, military precision.

Before Chen’s guards could even raise their weapons, a series of flashbangs detonated across the courtyard with blinding white light and deafening explosions.

Within seven minutes, the gunfire ceased.

The heavy oak doors of Lord Chen’s study were kicked off their hinges, splintering into pieces across the Persian rug.

Alexander Han walked into the room.

He wore a dark raincoat over his suit, his face wet from the rain, his eyes cold and unforgiving. Behind him stood Daniel Park, carrying a thick briefcase, accompanied by six armed Black Guard tactical officers.

Lord Chen backed up against his mahogany desk, his hand trembling as he reached for a gold-plated revolver lying on his blotter.

CLACK.

Before Chen’s fingers could touch the gun, a laser sight locked onto the center of his forehead.

"I wouldn't touch that, Lord Chen," Daniel warned smoothly, stepping forward.

Alexander didn't draw a weapon. He didn't need to. He stood in the center of the room, looking at the old man who had manipulated his life for five years with absolute disdain.

"Alexander..." Chen stammered, his face pale, his bravado instantly vanishing. "Listen to me! This is a misunderstanding! Vivian told me—"

"Vivian is currently in federal custody, Lord Chen," Alexander interrupted, his voice dropping into a chilling rumble. "She gave up the access codes to your Swiss accounts ten minutes ago in exchange for a lighter sentence."

Chen’s eyes widened in sheer horror. "You... you ruined my family's accounts?!"

"No," Alexander corrected quietly. "I didn't ruin them. I seized them. Every port authorization, every vessel registered under the Chen Shipping Line, and every piece of property you own now belongs to the Han Foundation."

Alexander stepped closer, leaning over the desk until his face was inches from Chen’s.

"Five years ago," Alexander whispered, "you paid a doctor in Milan fifty thousand Euros to forge a death certificate for my daughter. You told Victor to kidnap my newborn child and bring her to Seoul, where you raised her as an motherless heiress to use as leverage against me when she grew up."

Chen’s mouth opened, but no sound came out.

"You took a mother’s child from her arms," Alexander said, his voice shaking with a terrifying, contained rage. "You made me live in a hell of grief while you sat at my dinner table, sipping my wine, planning to merge our empires."

"Alexander... please..." Chen pleaded, dropping to his knees on the floor, his hands clasped together. "I have known your father for forty years! For his sake, spare my life!"

"My father is dead," Alexander said coldly. "And you are nothing to me."

He turned his back on the kneeling old man and walked toward the doorway. "Daniel."

"Sir?"

"Hand him over to the tactical team from Busan," Alexander commanded without looking back. "Let him spend the rest of his pathetic life in a maximum-security prison cell, stripped of his name, his fortune, and his legacy."

"Understood, Mr. Han," Daniel replied.

As Alexander walked out into the rainy courtyard, his phone chimed in his pocket. It was a video message from Elena, stationed back at the penthouse.

Alexander clicked open the file.

The screen lit up with a video of Kieran and Kyla sitting on the kitchen counter, wearing matching oversized pajamas, happily eating freshly baked pancakes that Mary had made for them.

Kyla looked at the camera, waving her small hand wildly. "Daddy! Mommy made pancakes with chocolate chips! Come home fast before Kieran eats them all!"

Kieran shoved a piece of pancake into his mouth, smiling broadly at the lens. "Hurry home, Daddy!"

Alexander stood in the pouring rain, surrounding by the ruins of his enemies' empire, looking down at the small screen in his hand. A slow, genuine smile—the first real smile he had worn in five years—broke across his face.

The dark king had won his war. Now, it was time to go home.
