Chapter 7 - Blood on the Pier

"Fire!" Santino screamed, panicking as he tried to raise his weapon.
The pier erupted into a chaotic symphony of gunfire. Vincent moved with lethal precision, dropping to one knee as he drew his silver pistol and fired two clean shots through the chests of the two guards closest to him.
Luca and the Vance strike teams pushed forward like a well-oiled machine, systematically neutralizing the Moretti forces. The air grew thick with the smell of gunpowder and sulfur, the rain doing little to wash away the violence unfolding on the concrete.
Seeing his men fall around him, Santino grabbed Derek by his good arm, using him as a human shield as he tried to scramble toward a getaway vehicle. "Get in the car, you idiot!" Santino yelled.
But Derek was paralyzed with fear. He looked across the chaotic pier and saw Vincent walking through the gunfire toward him, his face an emotionless mask, his pistol firing rhythmically. Vincent looked like death incarnate, unstoppable and completely focused on one target.
"Vance! Please!" Derek screamed, dropping to his knees as Santino abandoned him, speeding away in a black sedan only for the vehicle to be blown to pieces seconds later by a rocket-propelled grenade launched by Luca’s team.
The explosion lit up the dark pier in a brilliant, fiery orange glow.
Vincent stopped directly in front of a trembling, weeping Derek. He looked down at the man who had dared to harm his wife, his gray eyes devoid of any human mercy.

"You took her breath away in that café," Vincent said, his voice a chilling whisper that cut through the roar of the burning car. "Now, I take yours."
Derek opened his mouth to beg, but Vincent didn't give him the chance. He pulled the trigger, ending the threat of Norah’s past once and for all.
