Chapter 3 - The Boardroom Execution

The corporate headquarters of Sullivan Global Logistics occupied the top three floors of a sleek glass tower in the financial district.

At 8:50 AM, the thirty-second-floor boardroom was filled with silver-haired executives, corporate lawyers, and nervous board members. At the head of the long polished oak table sat Charles Sullivan—a sharp-featured man in his late fifties with cold blue eyes and a posture of arrogant impatience.

Beside Charles stood two imposing men in dark suits who didn't look like corporate security. They were bruised, heavy-set enforcers with violent eyes—operatives of the Iron Vipers.

“Let’s bring this meeting to order,” Charles announced, tapping his gold pen on the desk. “As you are all aware, my brother Arthur and his wife have encountered... unfortunate legal complications regarding a personal family matter.”

A few board members shifted uncomfortably in their seats.

“However,” Charles continued smoothly, “the business of Sullivan Global must proceed. The probate court is temporarily freezing Arthur’s assets, which leaves the company vulnerable. Therefore, as interim CEO, I am exercising my authority to sell forty percent of our port operations to the Vane-Carter Investment Group—effective immediately.”

Everyone in the room knew Vane-Carter was a front company for the Russian cartel, but fear and greed kept their mouths shut. Charles had promised massive payouts to every board member who voted yes.

“All those in favor?” Charles asked, raising his hand with a triumphant sneer.

Around the table, eight hands slowly rose into the air.

“Motion carried—”

BOOM!

The heavy double doors of the boardroom swung open with violent force, crashing against the walls.

The room went dead silent as two row of heavy security guards in tailored suits stepped inside, forming an aisle.

Walking down the center of the room was Lana Gallagher.

She looked breathtaking. She wore an emerald-green tailored suit that hugged her slender frame, her dark hair styled in sleek, sharp waves. She wore simple diamond earrings, her posture regal, her step steady and unyielding.

Beside her walked Brennan Hayes, his commanding presence casting a suffocating shadow over the room. Behind them were three federal prosecutors holding armfuls of legal injunctions.

Charles Sullivan sprang from his chair, his face flushing dark red. “What is the meaning of this insolence?! Security! Remove these intruders immediately!”

The two Iron Viper enforcers stepped forward, their hands reaching inside their jackets.

Before their fingers could touch leather, Brennan’s personal bodyguard, Victor, appeared like a ghost. With two blindingly fast strikes, Victor broke the first enforcer’s wrist and slammed the second man’s face directly into the granite pillar. Both men collapsed to the floor, unconscious and bleeding.

The board members gasped, backing their chairs away in utter terror.

“Sit down, Charles,” Brennan said smoothly, pulling out a chair for Lana at the head of the table—the seat reserved for the ultimate owner.

Lana sat down slowly, placing her hands flat on the polished wood. She looked directly at Charles, whose eyes were wide with panic.

“You... you have no right to be here,” Charles stammered, pointing a trembling finger at her. “You’re just a gold-digging nurse! You signed a renunciation!”

“The renunciation was signed under duress and physical assault, Charles,” a federal prosecutor stepped forward, laying a signed judicial court order on the table. “And as of 6:00 AM today, the probate judge has officially authenticated the master will contained in Leo Sullivan’s encrypted drive. Lana Gallagher is the sole heir and owner of 51% of Sullivan Global Logistics.”

Lana picked up a leather folder and opened it.

“And as the 51% owner,” Lana said, her voice dropping to a cool, commanding tone that silenced the room, “I am immediately terminating your position as interim CEO, Charles. You are fired.”

Charles’s jaw worked silently, his chest heaving. “You can’t do this! The vote was already taken!”

“The vote is void,” Lana countered, her eyes flashing like steel. “Furthermore, federal agents are currently raiding your private offices. We have the complete paper trail showing you accepted twenty million dollars from the Iron Vipers to compromise our city’s maritime security.”

At that moment, four federal agents walked into the boardroom, handcuffing Charles Sullivan on the spot.

“You’ll pay for this, you bitch!” Charles screamed as he was dragged toward the door, struggling wildly. “The Iron Vipers won't let you hold the docks! You’re a dead woman! Do you hear me?! DEAD!”

Lana didn't even flinch. She simply adjusted her sleeve, turned toward the terrified board members, and smoothed her papers.

“Now,” Lana said softly, a calm, brilliant smile touching her lips. “Let us discuss the restructuring of this company.”

Brennan stood behind her chair, leaning down slightly, his breath warm against her ear.

“Impressive performance, Mrs. Gallagher,” Brennan whispered, a genuine spark of pride in his voice.

“I had a good teacher,” Lana replied, looking up at him with a subtle, dangerous smile.
