Chapter 9 - The Billionaire's Heart

By the time Sophie reached her teens, we were a team. She was a natural leader, sharp and compassionate. I had never married—I hadn't found anyone who could understand the complexity of the life I had chosen—but I didn't feel lonely.
My house was full of music, study projects, and the occasional teenage drama. I was living the life I had only ever dreamed of from the back seat of a limo.
"I’m applying to college," she said one night, nervous but excited. "I want to study law. I want to help people who have been pushed aside."
