Chapter 10 - A Vow Restored

One year after the night at Mount Sinai Hospital, the estate was filled with gentle music, fairy lights, and the soft laughter of close friends and family.

It was a small, intimate ceremony under a canopy of ancient oak trees in the backyard. No reporters, no corporate sponsors, no high-society cameras. Just the people who mattered.

Damon stood near a floral arch, wearing a simple, perfectly tailored dark navy suit. Next to him stood Dr. Harrison and Evelyn Reed, who had become trusted family friends.

Sitting in custom high chairs nearby were one-year-old Alexander and Clara, both dressed in adorable white outfits, clapping their small hands at the bright lights.

The music shifted to a soft, romantic acoustic melody.

Damon’s heart skipped a beat as Sylvie appeared at the end of the stone aisle. She was breathtaking. She wore an elegant, minimalist ivory gown, carrying a bouquet of white roses and lavender.

As she reached him, Damon took her hands, his fingers lacing tightly through hers.

The officiant smiled at them both. "Damon and Sylvie, you have walked through fire together. You have known the pain of separation, the trial of betrayal, and the immense joy of second chances. Today, you stand before each other not to start anew, but to seal a love that has proven unbreakable."

Damon looked into Sylvie's eyes, speaking his vows without looking at a card.

"Sylvie," Damon said, his voice deep and steady. "One year ago, I walked into a hospital room with a heart full of anger and pride. I thought I had everything, yet I had nothing. You placed our children in my arms, and in six words, you saved my soul. I promise to love you, to protect you, and to place our family above all else for every remaining day of my life. I am yours—completely and forever."

Sylvie wiped a happy tear from her cheek, her smile radiant.

"Damon," Sylvie said, her voice filled with emotion. "I left because I was afraid of losing the man I fell in love with. But you fought for us when it mattered most. You tore down an empire just to build a home for our children. I promise to stand by your side, to trust you, to love you, and to build a life filled with joy, peace, and laughter with you and our sweet babies. You are my home."

"By the power vested in me," the officiant announced with a wide smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife!"

Damon pulled Sylvie into his arms and kissed her deeply as their guests erupted into applause and cheers.

When they parted, Damon picked up Alexander, and Sylvie lifted Clara into her arms. Together, hand in hand, the billionaire who had walked away from an empire and the woman who had saved him walked down the aisle into the warm sunset, surrounded by the laughter of their children and the bright promise of an everlasting future.
