Chapter 8 - Healing and New Beginnings

Two weeks later, the chaos had finally settled.

Julian was behind bars, facing multiple charges of attempted murder, extortion, and assault, with no possibility of bail. The Bellamy family lawyers had ensured he would never see the light of day again.

Tristan had been discharged from the hospital and was recovering at his penthouse in Manhattan. Bianca had taken a much-needed two-week leave of absence from the hospital, under the guise of recovering from the stress of the incident, but in reality, she was spending every moment with Tristan.

His penthouse was spectacular, overlooking Central Park, but to Bianca, the most beautiful thing about it was the quiet intimacy they shared.

They spent their days talking, reading, and simply being together. Tristan’s recovery was fast, aided by Bianca’s professional care and his own stubborn determination.

One evening, they were sitting on the expansive balcony, wrapped in a plush blanket, watching the city lights flicker below. The air was cool, the scent of autumn crisp and clean.

"I have a confession to make," Tristan said, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist, pulling her close against his side.

"Oh?" Bianca looked up at him, her eyes shining in the moonlight. "And what is that?"

"The night you climbed into my car," Tristan murmured, a soft smile playing on his lips. "I wasn't asleep. I had just closed my eyes for a moment. When the door opened and you climbed in, my driver was about to throw you out. But I saw your face in the rearview mirror."

Bianca blinked. "You did?"

"Yes," he whispered, his eyes locking onto hers. "You looked so incredibly tired, but there was a quiet, fierce beauty about you. When you rested your head against the window and fell asleep instantly, I couldn't bring myself to wake you. You looked so peaceful. I just wanted to protect that peace."

Bianca’s heart swelled with a deep, overwhelming warmth. "So you let me sleep."

"I did," he admitted. "And when you woke up and ran, I felt like the world had gone gray. I spent the next three days searching every hospital database in the city to find you."

"That is highly illegal, Mr. Bellamy," Bianca teased, leaning up to press a soft kiss to his jaw.

"I would break every law in this city to find you again, Bianca," he said, his voice dropping to a low, serious tone. "You changed my life. You showed me that I don't have to carry the weight of the world alone. You became my shield."

May you like

"And you became my sanctuary," Bianca whispered, her eyes filling with happy tears.

They kissed, a long, slow, deep kiss that sealed their unspoken vows. The differences in their worlds no longer mattered. They had forged a new world together, one built on trust, survival, and an unbreakable love.
