Chapter 8 - The Rebirth of Victoria

Six months later, the dust settled completely over the ruins of Apex Global.
The court finalized the liquidation of Adrian’s former company. Using my own legal expertise and backed by the resources of Vance & Sterling, I purchased the company's remaining logistics infrastructure at auction, completely restructuring it into a corporate entity named Trident Logistics, in honor of my triplets.
As the new CEO of Trident Logistics, I returned to the legal and corporate world not as a silent wife hiding in the shadows, but as a formidable leader in my own right.
On a bright Monday morning, I walked into the glass-walled boardroom on the top floor of Trident’s new headquarters in downtown Manhattan.
Forty executives stood up respectfully as I took my seat at the head of the long oak table.
"Good morning, everyone," I said, opening my leather folder. "Let's review our Q2 expansion strategy."
My mother sat at the far end of the table as chief legal counsel, a proud, radiant smile on her face as she watched her daughter command the room with natural authority and intellect.
Later that afternoon, I returned to our Greenwich estate.
The gardens were in full summer bloom, filled with the sweet scent of roses and fresh grass. In the backyard, three soft leather blankets were laid out beneath the shade of a massive oak tree.
Leo, Maya, and Noah—now six months old, healthy, chubby, and laughing—were rolling around on the blankets, kicking their little feet in the warm afternoon sun.

My father sat on the grass beside them, holding a wooden rattle, making funny faces that made Noah giggle uncontrollably.
I kicked off my designer heels and sat down on the blanket beside my mother and father, pulling Maya onto my lap while Leo grabbed my fingers with his tiny hand.
