Chapter 6 - The Architect of Truth

They drove straight to the home of Mark and Evelyn. The older couple had become the emotional anchors of their new life. Evelyn immediately wrapped Emily in a warm blanket and handed her a cup of hot tea, while Mark joined Daniel in the kitchen.
"This is dangerous, Daniel," Mark said, his face grave as he looked at the leather-bound ledger. "Julian is cornered. A cornered animal doesn't care about rules or trades."
"I know," Daniel said. "That’s why we aren't going to play his game. We need to create a dummy decryption key—one that looks authentic enough to fool his financial advisors for twenty-four hours. That will give the federal authorities enough time to track the location of his offshore accounts and arrest him when he attempts to access them."
"I have a contact in cyber-forensics at my old firm," Mark offered, pulling out his phone. "He can write a script that mimics a blockchain key. When Julian plugs it into his system, it will secretly ping his exact GPS coordinates back to the FBI."
Evelyn walked into the kitchen, her expression resolute. "And what about Emily? We can't let her go to that dock, Daniel. Julian’s men are ruthless."

"She’s not going," Daniel said firmly.
"Yes, I am," Emily's voice came from the doorway. She stood there, the blanket draped over her shoulders, her eyes burning with determination. "Julian wants to destroy our family because he thinks we are weak. He thinks we are still the broken people who ran away from our fathers. If we don't face him together, we will spend the rest of our lives looking over our shoulders. I am going, Daniel. And that's final."
