Chapter 7 - The Paper Trail of Death

The trial shifted from a murder case to an investigation into Silas’s criminal syndicate. Using the ledger I had found, we exposed the senators, the judges, and the CEOs who had been feeding at Silas’s trough. The courtroom turned into a den of panic as names were read out.
Silas realized his protection had evaporated. He tried to cut a deal, offering up the names of his partners. But it was too late. I had already provided the evidence to the Attorney General, bypassing Silas’s local connections. He had no leverage left. He had become an inconvenience to the very people he had served.
