Chapter 9 - The Purge and the Foundation

Six months later.
The city of Ravensport was undergoing a complete renaissance.
The dark alleyways and feared docklands were now bustling with legal trade, clean streets, and new developments. The police force, once heavily corrupted by rival syndicates, had been cleaned out, operating under strict, unyielding oversight established by Dominic’s new legal corporate board.
Today was the grand opening of the Claire Bennett Haven.
A massive crowd had gathered outside the newly constructed four-story building in the heart of the city. Journalists, city council members, former domestic workers, and local citizens filled the plaza, cheering and holding banners.
On the grand stage stood Dominic and Claire.
Claire looked magnificent in a tailored burgundy suit that accentuated her lush figure with absolute elegance and pride. Beside her stood Dominic, wearing a sharp black suit, his hand resting securely at the small of her back, looking at her with an expression of pure, unadulterated adoration.
The mayor of Ravensport stepped up to the podium, smiling warmly at the crowd.
"Today, we open a doors that represent hope, protection, and dignity for thousands of women in our city," the mayor declared into the microphone. "And we owe this monumental achievement to a woman who turned her own pain into a beacon of strength for us all—Mrs. Claire Vale!"
The crowd erupted into deafening applause and cheers.
Claire stepped up to the podium, her head held high, her smile radiant. She looked out at the sea of women in the audience—some of them still bearing fading marks, some holding their children’s hands—and her heart swelled with deep, transformative purpose.
"To every woman standing here today who has ever been told she is weak, or worthless, or not enough," Claire spoke into the microphone, her voice ringing clear, strong, and confident across the plaza. "I want you to know that your story is not over. You are not defined by the bruises on your skin or the words of those who tried to break you. You are worthy of respect, you are worthy of safety, and you are powerful beyond measure."
She looked back at Dominic, who was watching her with tears of pride glinting in his dark eyes.
"And to the man who saw me when I was invisible," Claire added, her voice softening with profound love, "thank you for showing me that true strength lies in protecting those who need it most."

The crowd cheered wildly as Claire cut the wide ribbon spanning the entrance of the building.
As confetti rained down from the sky, Dominic stepped forward, pulling Claire into a deep, loving embrace, kissing her before the cameras and the entire city, declaring to the world that his queen was untouchable.
