Chapter 10 - A New Horizon

Six months later.
The dark, stormy clouds that had plagued Briar Glen for months were gone, replaced by a brilliant spring sunshine that bathed the estate in gold. The rose gardens were in full bloom, filling the crisp Connecticut air with sweet perfume.
The mansion was no longer a place of cold, rigid fear. Under the warm management of Mrs. Brooks and the newly restructured household, laughter filled the halls. Jaden had been enrolled in a prestigious preparatory academy in Hartford, excelling in his studies and thriving in his new life.
Out on the grand lawn overlooking the rolling green hills, a massive white velvet marquee had been erected. Hundreds of guests—executives, dignitaries, local community members, and close friends—gathered around a flower-draped altar.
At the end of the aisle stood Ethan Blackwell. He looked strikingly handsome in a sharp black tuxedo, his eyes fixed intently on the wooden doors of the mansion.
The music shifted to a sweeping, romantic symphony.
The double doors opened, and Lily appeared, holding the arm of Richard Blackwell, who had happily agreed to walk her down the aisle as a father figure.
Lily took everyone's breath away. She wore an exquisite, custom-fitted lace gown that trailed gracefully behind her. Her dark hair was styled in soft waves, adorned with tiny white flowers. She held a bouquet of white lilies, her face glowing with health, happiness, and radiant love.
As Richard led her to the altar, he placed her hand into Ethan’s, whispering, "Take care of each other."
Ethan looked down at Lily, his thumb gently stroking the back of her hand—a hand that no longer bore the scars of harsh labor, but was soft, cherished, and loved.
"You take my breath away," Ethan whispered softly, his eyes sparkling with emotion.
"You didn't give up on me," Lily murmured back, her eyes shining with joyful tears.
The minister smiled at the couple. "We are gathered here today to unite two hearts that were tested by fire, refined by truth, and bound by an unbreakable love."
After the vows were spoken—promises of protection, loyalty, and unconditional love that brought half the audience to tears—the minister smiled brightly.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Ethan, you may kiss your bride."
Ethan didn't hesitate. He pulled Lily gently into his arms, dipping her back slightly as he pressed his lips to hers in a deep, passionate kiss that made the entire crowd erupt into thunderous applause and cheers.
When they parted, Ethan cupped her cheeks, staring into the eyes of the woman who had transformed his world.
"No more schedules," Ethan smiled, a witty spark in his eyes. "No more orders. You are the mistress of this house now, Mrs. Blackwell."
Lily laughed, a bright, beautiful sound that echoed over the gardens. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for another kiss.

"I'm not the mistress of the house, Ethan," she whispered against his lips. "I'm just home."
Hand in hand, Ethan and Lily turned to face their guests, walking down the aisle together into a bright, boundless future—a billionaire and his bride, untamed, untargeted, and forever victorious.
