The courtroom trial for the financial fraud charges took place in downtown Boston six months later. Judge Harrison presided over the case with an expression of stern disapproval as Sarah Sterling presented the digital forensic audits, the bank routing slips, and the verified handwriting comparisons.
Brian took the stand in a standard orange jumpsuit, having failed to meet his bail conditions due to flight risk concerns raised by his attempts to liquidate hidden assets.
“Do you have any statement to make to the court regarding the forgery of Mrs. Chloe Vance’s signature on the 27,500-euro consolidation loan?” Judge Harrison asked.
Brian stared down at the defense table, unable to look toward the gallery where Chloe sat calmly with her parents. “No, Your Honor. I accept full responsibility.”
