Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

Six months later.
Spring had arrived in full bloom across the Vance estate. The long, manicured lawns were covered in vibrant white roses and lush green grass. The soft laughter of family and friends echoed across the stone terrace overlooking the gardens.
We were hosting a private dedication ceremony for the Elena Vance Maternal Health Center—a fifty-million-dollar state-of-the-art facility funded entirely by Vance Global, designed to provide free, high-quality healthcare and shelter to pregnant women in need across the state.
Julian Sterling, Sarah, and dozens of genuine partners and friends gathered around the terrace, holding glasses of sparkling champagne.
Standing near the edge of the fountain was nine-month-old Leo, giggling uncontrollably as he took his very first, wobbling steps across the soft grass, held steadily by his mother's loving hands.
"Look at him, Daniel!" Elena called out, her face glowing with pure, unadulterated happiness. "He's walking!"
I walked across the lawn, crouching down and opening my arms. Leo let out a joyful squeal, taking two small steps forward and collapsing safely into my chest. I lifted him up into the air, holding him high as he laughed against the blue spring sky.
"He's strong," I smiled, pulling him close and holding Elena against my side with my free arm. "Just like his mother."
Elena rested her head against my shoulder, looking out over the beautiful estate that was now filled with life, light, and laughter.
There were no cold marble foyer rules. There were no silver basins. There was no fear.
"Do you remember the night you came home early from Singapore?" Elena asked softly, looking up into my eyes with endless love.
"Every single second," I replied, pressing my lips gently against hers, tasting the sweet promise of our forever. "It was the day I stopped just living... and started fighting for the only thing that matters."
"We built a home out of the ruins, Daniel," she whispered.
May you like
"No, sweetheart," I corrected her, looking down at our beautiful son playing with the silver chain around my neck, then back into the dark, radiant eyes of the woman who had transformed my world. "You gave this home a soul."
The spring wind blew gently through the white roses, carrying our laughter into the bright, endless sky. The empire was secure, the past was forgiven, and our future was boundless.
