Chapter 4 - Striking Back

While Ryan panicked in his penthouse, my first priority was retrieving my granddaughter. Accompanied by two uniformed police officers and a court supervisor carrying an emergency stay order signed by a Senior Family Court Judge, I arrived at the Grand Horizon Hotel.

When the hotel door opened, seven-year-old Sophia was sitting on the sofa, clutching her favorite stuffed bear, looking frightened and confused.

“Grandpa!” she cried out, leaping from the sofa and throwing her arms around my neck the moment she saw me.

“I’m here, sweetheart,” I whispered, lifting her into my arms and kissing her forehead. “You’re safe now. We’re going home to Mommy.”

By midday, Sophia was reunited with Emily at my house. The reunion was tearful, overflowing with relief and emotion. Seeing my daughter hold her child in her arms, tears of joy streaming down her face as the trauma began to melt away, restored the warmth to our home that Ryan had tried so ruthlessly to destroy.

Meanwhile, the legal gears were turning with terrifying speed. Ryan’s emergency custody order was officially voided due to fraudulent misrepresentation and perjury.

At 2:00 PM, federal agents from the Financial Crimes Task Force simultaneously executed search warrants at Vance Capital Management headquarters and Ryan’s penthouse. Every computer, server, phone, and financial ledger was seized under federal asset forfeiture laws.

Ryan’s high-priced defense attorneys attempted to file emergency bail motions, but the sheer volume of evidence I provided—combined with the risk of flight due to his illegal foreign accounts—led the judge to issue an immediate freeze on all his personal and corporate assets.

Ryan Vance, who only hours ago stood in a penthouse sipping champagne, was escorted out of his building in handcuffs in front of dozens of news cameras.
