Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

A year later, the grand gardens of the Voss estate were decorated with white silk ribbons, blooming jasmine, and arches of white roses.

Music drifted through the warm summer air as friends, family, and supporters gathered for our wedding ceremony. The sun sank low on the horizon, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of gold, pink, and deep violet over Lake Michigan.

I stood in front of the full-length mirror inside the master suite, wearing an ethereal lace wedding gown with a flowing train. The reflection staring back at me was no longer that of a exhausted, broken waitress drowning in grief and debt. I was a strong woman, a beloved mother, and a bride ready to step into a bright, boundless future.

There was a soft knock at the door, and the double doors opened.

Roman stepped into the room, looking impossibly handsome in a tailored black tuxedo. He stopped in his tracks, his breath catching as his eyes swept over me.

"You are breathtaking," he murmured softly, walking across the room to take both of my hands in his.

"You're not so bad yourself, Mr. Voss," I smiled, stepping closer to adjust his bow tie.

Outside, the music shifted into the processional march.

Down the aisle paved with white rose petals, three tiny flower bearers—Leo and Liam in matching mini-tuxedos, and Maya in a puffy white dress—led the way, dropping petals with chaotic enthusiasm before running straight to sit with their nanny in the front row.

Hand in hand, Roman and I walked down the aisle under the warm summer sky.

As we stood beneath the arch of white roses, exchanging our vows, I looked into Roman’s eyes and knew that every tear I had ever shed, every lonely night I had spent weeping in the dark, had led me to this single, miraculous moment of restoration.

"I promise to honor you, protect you, and love you through every storm and every sunshine," Roman spoke, his voice steady and deep, filled with absolute devotion. "You are my heart, my home, and my true north."

"I promise to love you, stand beside you, and build a life of joy with you," I answered, my voice clear and unbroken. "We were brought together through darkness, but together, we built a light that will never go out."

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant announced with a warm smile. "You may kiss the bride."

Roman pulled me into his arms, dipping me gently as he sealed our union with a deep, passionate kiss. The crowd burst into thunderous applause, cheers echoing over the gentle waves of Lake Michigan.

When we turned to face our guests, our three beautiful children ran up the aisle toward us, arms wide open, calling out in pure, unfiltered delight:

May you like

"Mommy! Daddy!"

Roman scooped up Leo and Liam, while I lifted Maya into my arms. Standing together under the golden rays of the setting sun, surrounded by the laughter of our children and the warmth of a love born out of tragedy and conquered by truth, our unbroken circle was finally complete.
