Chapter 2 - Fortress of Leather and Iron
The convoy navigated the twisting mountain passes wrapped in pitch-black storm clouds before finally grinding to a halt before a massive steel gate set deep into the Idaho wilderness. Reflected in the warm yellow floodlights above was the winged death head crest. This was no mere roadside bar—it was an absolute fortress, complete with reinforced concrete walls, a high-definition surveillance perimeter, and armed guards stationed around the clock.
The chase van's heavy side door slid open. Khloe stepped out, holding baby Leo tightly against her chest. The freezing mountain air was instantly replaced by the cozy warmth of the main compound as she was ushered through heavy oak doors. Inside, Martha—a woman in her late fifties with gentle eyes and an unmistakable steel resolve—was waiting with dry clothes, warm blankets, and fresh canisters of formula.
"In here, sweetheart," Martha said softly, taking baby Leo gently into her arms, checking his forehead, and flashing a warm smile at Khloe. "He’s safe now. And so are you."
While Martha tended to the baby, Brick and his core club officers gathered around the massive timber table in the central hall. Khloe took a seat, wrapping her cold hands around a steaming mug of tea.
"Derek Lawson isn't just an abuser," Khloe spoke up, her voice steadying as the tremor left her chest. "He uses his chop shop in Spokane as a front. He runs a multi-state stolen auto ring and... human trafficking across state lines. He pays off half the regional county deputies."

Brick leaned back in his heavy chair, arms crossed over his chest, the pale scar on his cheek tightening into an icy line. "That’s why he spent so much money tracking you down. You didn't just walk out with his son, Khloe—you walked out as a walking death warrant for his entire criminal empire."
"We aren't sitting duck waiting for him," Pops said, spreading a regional topographical map across the table. "We turn this perimeter into an iron vault tonight."
