Chapter 7 - The Downfall of the Parasites

The financial consequences for the Whitaker family unfolded like dominoes over the next three months.
With the legal audit submitted to the court, the judge issued an emergency freeze on all assets tied to Whitaker Holdings LLC. Unable to make payments on the Oregon coast property without my subsidization, the beach house went into default.
To avoid criminal charges for corporate embezzlement and tax evasion uncovered during the forensic audit, Daniel was forced to sign a binding settlement agreement drafted by Sarah.
The terms were brutal, but entirely fair:
Full Reimbursement: Daniel surrendered his full share of equity in our Portland home to repay the $45,000 he had stolen from our joint account, plus interest and legal fees.
Sole Ownership: The court awarded me sole ownership of our Portland house, leaving Daniel with zero claims to the property.
Forced Sale: The coast property was ordered to be sold immediately, with 100% of the proceeds allocated to pay off outstanding business debts, back taxes, and court expenses.
Alimony Waiver: Daniel signed a permanent waiver forfeiting any right to seek spousal support or alimony from my higher income.
Deprived of my financial cushion, the Whitaker family collapsed under the weight of their own greed.
Robert’s truck was auctioned off by the lender. Unable to secure refinancing without proof of income, Linda was forced to put her house on the market at a steep discount to avoid formal foreclosure, moving into a tiny two-bedroom rented apartment on the outskirts of town.
Megan had to drop out of her expensive private lifestyle, sell her luxury items on second-hand apps, and take a full-time job at a local retail store to pay off her own credit card debt.

As for Daniel? His employer launched an internal review after receiving court subpoenas regarding his unauthorized financial transfers. While they chose not to press charges to avoid a public scandal, they quietly terminated his employment for breach of ethics.
Within ninety days of telling me "Your parents are your problem," Daniel Whitaker found himself jobless, broke, divorced, and living in his mother’s rented guest room on an air mattress.
