Chapter 4 - THE ZURICH GAMBIT

Four days later. Zurich, Switzerland.
The snow fell softly over the pristine streets of the financial capital, coating the classic European architecture in a blanket of white. But unlike the terrifying storm on Mount Elbert, this cold environment felt different to me. I was no longer a defenseless target shivering on a cliff. I was the Chief Executive Officer of Harrison Global, backed by unlimited resources and an unshakeable determination.
We were staying in the top-floor penthouse of the private Harrison Hotel overlooking Lake Zurich. Marcus had set up a fully encrypted tactical suite, monitoring all communications coming out of Corvus Holdings' glass headquarters across the city.
"Arthur Vance is paranoid," Marcus explained, pulling up three-dimensional blueprints of the Corvus skyscraper onto a digital table. "He rarely leaves his top-floor sanctuary. His security force consists of elite former European mercenaries. He believes he is completely unassailable behind his Swiss banking secrecy laws."
"Swiss banking laws protect money," I said, leaning over the blueprint. "They don't protect treason, black-market extortion, and corporate espionage. Marcus, how did your brother secure the liquidity to buy seventeen percent of our stock over five years?"
"Through illegal weapons trading and laundering money for corrupt foreign oligarchs," Marcus answered with a bitter edge in his voice. "He uses a network of twelve dummy accounts at the Private Bank of Geneva."
"If we can prove those accounts are linked to terrorism and illegal trading, the Swiss Federal Banking Authority will freeze his assets instantly," William added, standing beside me. "Without those assets, his seventeen percent stake in Harrison Global becomes voting-restricted, rendering his challenge at the London board meeting completely useless."
"The problem is accessing the private key servers inside Corvus Holdings," Marcus said. "The servers are air-gapped. They cannot be hacked remotely over the internet. Someone has to physically enter the vault on the 40th floor."
"Then I will go," I said flatly.
William immediately stood up straight, his face pale with concern. "No! Absolutely not, Emma! I just got you back. I will not let you walk into Arthur’s lair!"
"Father, listen to me," I said gently, touching his arm. "Arthur knows your face. He knows Marcus’s face. He expects both of you to attack him through corporate lawsuits or financial counters. But he believes I am still recovering in America, nursing my newborn child and hiding from the trauma of what Victor did to me."
"It's too dangerous," William insisted.
"I am not going alone," I smiled softly, looking at Marcus. "Marcus knows his brother’s security systems better than anyone. He built the baseline architecture before they broke ties fifteen years ago. With Marcus guiding me from the perimeter, I can gain access to the vault during Corvus's annual charity gala tomorrow night."
Marcus studied me for a long moment, a look of profound respect dawning in his eyes. He nodded slowly toward my father.
"She's right, Mr. Harrison," Marcus said softly. "Arthur's greatest flaw has always been his supreme arrogance. He underestimates women, and he completely underestimates the strength of Eleanor's daughter."

William looked at me, seeing the fierce, unwavering spirit of the woman he had loved and lost twenty-eight years ago reflected in my eyes. After a long silence, he released a deep breath and nodded.
"Alright," William said, his voice thick with emotion. "But if anything goes wrong, Marcus brings down the entire building."
