Chapter 7 - A New Foundation

With Julian removed and facing decades in prison, Edward officially announced the restructuring of Blake International.

At a global press conference held at the Manhattan headquarters, Edward stood beside Claire, introducing her as the Vice-Chairwoman and Head of the newly formed Blake Community Development Initiative.

"For decades, this company focused solely on luxury skyscrapers and commercial towers," Edward declared to hundreds of journalists and camera crews. "Today, under the leadership of my daughter, Claire, we are dedicating two billion dollars to building sustainable, high-quality, affordable housing complexes for working families across the nation."

The room erupted into applause. Claire stepped up to the microphone, her eyes shining with tears of joy. Her vision—the very dream Edward had once dismissed as worthless—was now becoming a reality on a global scale.

In the front row of the auditorium sat Lily, wearing a pretty yellow dress, clapping wildly with her giant plush teddy bear sitting in her lap.

That evening, back at Blake Manor, father and daughter sat together on the rear veranda, watching the sunset cast a warm golden light over the autumn gardens.

"Thank you, Dad," Claire said softly, clinking her teacup against his. "For believing in my dream."

"Thank you for saving me, Claire," Edward replied gently. "If Lily hadn't walked into that coffee shop looking for chocolate cake, I would still be an old man dying alone in a glass tower."
