Chapter 9 - The Grand Gala

Two years later, Oakridge Manor hosted the greatest celebration in its hundred-year history: The First Annual Beatrice Harrington Sovereign Gala.
Over six hundred distinguished guests—diplomats, state officials, philanthropists, and international leaders—filled the grand ballroom, which was decorated with thousands of white roses, crystal chandeliers, and golden ribbons.
At the head of the grand marble staircase stood Julian Vance, looking dashing in a dark tailcoat tuxedo.
Beside him stood Clara, wearing a breathtaking sapphire-blue silk gown, her hair styled in an elegant updo, radiating pure grace and authority. Over the past two years, Julian and Clara’s shared devotion to Beatrice had blossomed into a deep, profound love, and the two had officially announced their engagement six months prior.
The orchestra began to play a magnificent fanfare.
The crowd below turned their attention to the top of the stairs.
Lady Margaret stepped out, walking slowly with her cane, her face filled with radiant pride.
And beside her walked six-year-old Beatrice Harrington.
She wore a gown of pure white silk, her dark curls resting softly on her shoulders. Pinned across the front of her dress was a sash holding all three Sovereign Gold Buttons—the lion and the rose—glinting like stars under the ballroom lights.
The entire ballroom erupted into thunderous, standing applause.
Beatrice smiled warmly, waving to the crowd with the natural poise and warmth of a true queen.
Julian stepped forward, offering his hand to Clara as they walked down the stairs behind Beatrice and Lady Margaret.
At the microphone at the center of the stage, Julian raised his glass, signaling the crowd to settle.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Julian’s voice echoed proudly through the grand hall. "Six years ago, a terrible shadow tried to extinguish the light of this house. Evil tried to steal an empire, destroy a family, and erase a child's name from history."
He looked down at Beatrice, who was holding Clara’s hand tightly.
"But truth cannot be buried," Julian continued, his voice filled with emotion. "And love cannot be defeated. Tonight, we do not just celebrate a family reclaimed. We celebrate the triumph of goodness over greed."

Julian raised his glass high into the air. "To Princess Beatrice Harrington! The true heir of Oakridge Manor!"
"TO BEATRICE!" the six hundred guests roared in unison, raising their glasses high as trumpets sounded through the rafters.
