Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Showdown

The emergency board meeting was held on a stormy Tuesday. The glass conference room on the 50th floor of the Reed Tower felt like a gladiator arena. Arthur Reed sat at the head of the table, a smug smile plastered across his face.

"Alexander," Arthur began, leaning forward. "The rumors surrounding your personal life are a liability. Harboring a former employee's child? Whispers of secret heirs? The press is having a field day. For the stability of the company, we believe you should step down temporarily."

Alexander remained calm, his hands clasped loosely on the table. "The rumors are true, Arthur. But your narrative is wrong."

The board members gasped and murmured.

Alexander clicked a remote, and a giant screen lit up, displaying the DNA results, along with a certified marriage certificate between Julian Reed and Maria Alvarez, signed just days before Julian's death—a document Maria had kept hidden in the lining of her old suitcase.

"Maya Alvarez Reed is the legitimate daughter of Julian Reed," Alexander announced, his voice booming with authority. "She is the rightful heir to Julian’s 25% share of this company. And as her legal uncle and the appointed trustee of Julian’s estate, I now control a combined 60% of Reed Industries' voting shares."

Arthur’s face turned purple. "This is a setup! That woman is a gold digger!"

"That woman," Alexander said, his eyes flashing with dangerous fire, "is the sister-in-law of the man who owns this room. And if anyone raises their voice against her again, I will personally ruin their career before the market closes today."
