Alexander had won the boardroom battle, but the war wasn't over. Devastated by his public humiliation, Arthur Reed decided to play dirty.
Two days after the meeting, while Alexander was at a crucial press conference attempting to stabilize the company's public image, a black SUV breached the gates of the Reed mansion. Arthur had hired rogue security operators to kidnap Maya, intending to force Alexander into a legal settlement regarding her shares.
Inside the mansion, panic ensued. Maria fought like a lioness, throwing herself in front of the men who broke into the master bedroom. She was struck down, hitting her head against the marble floor.
Maya, terrified, ran through the secret passages Julian had told Maria about years ago. She ended up locked inside Alexander's private office—the very place she had slept a few nights before.
