CHAPTER 6 — THE DAY SHE LOST CONTROL

Victoria didn’t leave quietly.

She never intended to.

She came down the stairs holding a suitcase.

Calm again.

Composed again.

Like she was stepping out of a role she could return to later.

“You’re making a mistake,” she told Richard.

He didn’t respond.

She looked at me.

“You think this changes anything.”

I didn’t answer.

Because it already had.

She smiled faintly.

“You’ll replace me eventually,” she said to Richard.

“You always do.”

Richard shook his head.

“No,” he said.

“This time, I remove you.”

Security entered.

She didn’t fight.

She didn’t scream.

She simply stared at me as she passed.

And whispered:

“They will still choose control over you someday.”

But I didn’t believe her.

Not anymore.

Because Ethan, Noah, and Liam were standing behind me.

Holding my hands.

Not afraid anymore.

Richard looked at them.

Then at me.

And said something quietly:

“You didn’t just protect them.”

A pause.

“You saved me from not seeing them.”

And for the first time in that house—

there was no fear left.

Only truth.

May you like

And a family slowly rebuilding itself on it.

END — HAPPY ENDING
