Chapter 10 - The Sovereign of Solmere

One year later.

A gentle summer breeze blew across the private roof garden of the Solmere Hotel, carrying the sweet scent of blooming jasmine and lavender.

Charlotte stood by the glass edge, looking out over the panoramic view of the sparkling harbor and the thriving city skyline. The sun was setting, painting the sky in brilliant hues of gold, crimson, and deep purple.

The heavy glass door to the garden opened quietly.

Arthur Pendelton walked out, carrying a silver tray with two glasses of fresh lemonade. He set the tray down on a small wrought-iron table and walked over to stand beside her.

"You built something extraordinary here, Charlotte," Arthur said softly, looking out at the city. "Not just a business empire, but a sanctuary."

Charlotte took a sip of her drink, a soft, content smile playing on her lips. "I remembered what my mother told me when I was seven years old, sitting in this very garden."

"What did she say?"

"She told me that true power isn't measured by how many people bow to you," Charlotte said, turning to look at Arthur with eyes that shone with wisdom and unbroken strength. "It's measured by how many people you lift up when they fall."

Down in the grand lobby below, the doors opened wide, welcoming guests from every corner of the world into a place of warmth, justice, and light.

Charlotte Vale—the true heir, the sovereign owner, and the guardian of the Solmere Empire—looked out over her kingdom, knowing that no shadow, no greed, and no lie would ever dim its light again.
