Chapter 8 - Healing in the Aftermath

With Carver’s syndicate eliminated, the heavy cloud hanging over the household finally lifted, making room for true psychological healing.
Ethan began attending specialized art therapy sessions. Instead of drawing dark corridors and locked doors, his paper gradually filled with bright colors—blue skies, green trees, and a yellow house with four people standing hand-in-hand in the yard.
He moved out of the linen closet and into his bedroom. With Sophie’s help, they painted the walls a light, sky blue and hung glowing stars across the ceiling.
One evening during dinner, Ethan looked down at his plate, then at his mother, father, and sister. "Mom?" he asked softly.
"Yes, sweetheart?" Elena replied, setting her fork down.

Elena swallowed hard, fighting back tears of immense joy, and reached across the table to hold his small hand. "You're home, Ethan. You're never going to be lost again."
