Chapter 10 - A New Sunrise

Two years later.

The summer sun shone brightly over a rolling green estate in upstate Vermont. Blue hydrangeas bloomed along a winding cobblestone path leading to a gorgeous, white-trimmed farmhouse overlooking a crystal-clear lake.

There were no iron gates. There were no armed guards in black suits. There were no dark shadows of the past.

On the spacious back lawn, four-year-old Lily, Grace, and Emma were running through the lawn sprinklers, their joyous laughter echoing across the meadow. They were wearing matching yellow sundresses, their bright blue eyes sparkling with complete, unadulterated happiness.

"Look at me, Mama! I'm flying!" Emma shouted, jumping off a wooden bench into the soft grass.

"Be careful, sweetie!" Hannah called out, sitting on the porch swing.

She was wearing a simple, elegant white lace dress. Her hair was styled in soft waves, and her skin radiated health and happiness. Gone was the exhausted, terrified server from Queens. In her place was a confident, beloved mother and woman.

Heavy, warm arms wrapped around her waist from behind.

Dominic leaned down, resting his chin on her shoulder, pressing a soft kiss against her neck. He was wearing a casual linen shirt, his dark hair catching the golden afternoon light. The scars on his body remained, but the darkness in his eyes had been replaced by profound tranquility.

Following the night in Queens, Dominic had spent six months completely dismantling the Vale crime syndicate. He transferred all legitimate construction and shipping assets into legal, public trusts, signed over millions to medical research charities, and walked away from the underworld forever.

"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Vale?" Dominic asked softly, swaying gently with her on the porch swing.

Hannah smiled, turning her head to kiss his cheek. "I was just thinking about the day we met at Bellafonte. How scared I was when you locked the doors."

"You were very brave," Dominic chuckled, his thumb rubbing small circles on her waist. "You yelled at the most feared man in New York."

"Because you were being absurd," Hannah teased softly, turning in his arms to look into his eyes. "And now look at you. A retired country gentleman who grows organic apples."

"I am whatever you and our daughters need me to be," Dominic said, his expression softening into deep tenderness. "You saved my life, Hannah. In every way a man can be saved."

"Mama! Papa! Come play!" Grace shouted from the lawn, waving a bubble wand in the air.

Dominic laughed, standing up and reaching his hand out to Hannah. "Duty calls."

Hannah took his hand, but before she stood up, she pulled him back slightly, a shy smile gracing her lips.

"Dominic... wait," she whispered.

Dominic paused, looking at her with concern. "What's wrong? Are you feeling okay?"

Hannah placed his large, warm hand gently over her lower abdomen.

Dominic froze. His breath hitched in his throat as his eyes widened in sudden realization.

"Hannah...?"

"Dr. Vance confirmed it yesterday," Hannah whispered, tears of joy filling her eyes. "Lily, Grace, and Emma are going to have a baby brother."

Dominic fell to his knees in front of her, resting his forehead against her stomach, wrapping his arms around her waist as tears of pure happiness overflowed from his eyes. He kissed her stomach tenderly before standing up and pulling Hannah into a fierce, loving embrace.

Out on the lawn, the three little girls came running over, circling their parents, holding hands and laughing under the bright, golden summer sky.

The darkness was finally gone. The silent triplets had found their voice, and together, they had built a family anchored in eternal love.
