Chapter 10 - A New Beginning
The wedding was small, held in the beautiful, sunlit backyard of the Lake Forest estate. Only a few close friends, the neighbors, and Lily’s doctors were in attendance.
Noah stood proudly beside his father as the best man, wearing a tiny, custom-tailored tuxedo that matched Ethan’s. Lily was the flower girl, wearing a beautiful white dress and a crown of fresh daisies, her laughter echoing through the garden as she threw petals onto the grass.
When Grace walked down the aisle, holding a bouquet of wildflowers, Ethan felt his breath catch in his throat. She looked radiant, her eyes fixed entirely on him.
They exchanged vows under a canopy of blooming cherry blossoms.
"I promise to protect you, to cherish you, and to build a life with you where you never have to be strong alone again," Ethan said, his voice thick with emotion.
"And I promise to love you, to care for you, and to make this house a home for all of us, every single day," Grace replied, her tears flowing freely.
As the minister pronounced them husband and wife, the guests clapped and cheered, but the loudest cheers came from Noah and Lily, who jumped up and down, pulling their parents into a giant, group hug.
That evening, as the sun set over Lake Michigan, casting a warm, golden light over the garden, Ethan and Grace stood on the back porch, watching the children play in the grass.
The brown canvas tote was sitting on the porch bench beside them, holding a small blanket for the cool evening air.
Ethan picked up the tote, looking at it with a soft smile.
"Who would have thought," he whispered, "that a brown canvas bag could change our lives so completely?"
Grace wrapped her arm around his waist, leaning her head against his chest.

They stood together in the warm spring evening, their hearts full, their family complete, and their future brighter than they had ever dared to dream.
