Chapter 10 - A Legacy Built on Love

Two years later.
The autumn leaves painted the Oyster Bay estate in vibrant shades of crimson and gold. The heavy iron gates stood wide open, no longer a fortress shielding a lonely, bitter king from the world, but a gateway to a home full of life, laughter, and purpose.
In the gardens behind the main house, a grand marquee had been set up overlooking the peaceful waters of Long Island Sound. White roses lined the aisle, and classical music floated softly through the crisp air.
Inside the bridal suite, Clara stood before the full-length mirror, adjusting the veil of her lace wedding gown. She looked at her reflection—no longer the tired, overworked therapist crushed under medical debt, but a confident, glowing woman who had transformed an empire with her heart.
Rosa walked into the room, leaning lightly on an ivory cane, tears glistening in her dark eyes.
"You look breathtaking, my daughter," Rosa said softly, placing a warm hand on Clara’s cheek. "When I sat in that car two years ago, watching the laser dot on my chest, I thought my life was over. I never dreamed that moment would bring me a daughter, and give my son his soul back."
"You gave me a family, Rosa," Clara replied, holding the old woman’s hand tightly. "You both did."
Moments later, to the sound of soft string instruments, Clara walked down the aisle toward the altar.
Standing beneath an arch of white lilies was Dante. He looked imposing and handsomely regal in his dark tuxedo, but as his eyes met Clara’s, every trace of the underworld boss vanished. His expression was pure, unadulterated devotion.
When she reached his side, Dante took her hands, his fingers lightly brushing over the faint scars beneath her delicate lace sleeves—a permanent reminder of the day she had chosen to save his world.
"I used to believe the world was divided into cages," Clara said in her vows, looking deep into his dark eyes. "I thought some people were born to suffer in the dark, and others were born to rule in the shadows. But you showed me that love can break any cage, and that light can grow in the darkest places."
Dante smiled, his voice rough with emotion as he placed a simple, elegant diamond band on her finger. "I spent my whole life building walls to keep the world out, Clara. You took five bullets to break those walls down. You are my home, my peace, and my queen. I swear to spend every day of my life making sure you never have to stand alone again."

As the priest pronounced them husband and wife, Dante pulled Clara into a deep, tender kiss while the crowd erupted into applause.
The story that had begun with violence, fear, and blood in a dark parking garage had reached its final, beautiful conclusion—not in tragedy, but in an enduring legacy of love, redemption, and a triumph that would echo through their family for generations to come.
