Chapter 9 - The Trial of Truth

The auditorium fell into a dead, breathless silence. The live television cameras, broadcasted to millions of viewers worldwide, remained locked onto the stage as Alexander walked toward the center podium.

Kenneth’s face twisted into an expression of pure, murderous rage. He leaned close to Alexander, his voice a venomous whisper beneath the roar of the crowd. "You fool. You're ruining everything. Your father's name will be dragged through the mud. You will be bankrupt by nightfall."

"My father's name belongs in the mud, Kenneth," Alexander replied, his voice carried clearly by the open microphone, broadcasting his words to the entire world. "And so do you."

Alexander raised his hand, pointing up at the massive digital screen. "Fifteen years ago, my father, Arthur Sterling, and the man standing beside me, Kenneth Vance, systematically forged the legal signatures of local business owners in South Central to execute an illegal land grab. When one man, a brave mechanic named Marcus Vance, refused to yield and threatened to expose the truth, he was murdered. His workshop was intentionally burned to the ground with him inside."

The crowd gasped, several board members standing up in shock. The stock tickers displayed on the side monitors began to plunge in real-time, losing billions in valuation within seconds.

"This is an absolute lie!" Kenneth screamed, gesturing frantically to his security guards who were rushing the stage. "Arrest him! He is mentally unstable!"

Before the guards could reach Alexander, the screen changed again. This time, it played a high-fidelity audio log and displayed the digitized email logs between Arthur and Kenneth from the night of the fire, followed by Richard's signed legal affidavit confessing to the broader corporate cover-up.

The evidence was overwhelming, forensic, and absolute. It was a digital execution of an empire.

"The proof has already been uploaded simultaneously to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice, and every major news outlet on the planet," Alexander announced calmly. "Sterling Global Holdings is voluntarily entering immediate corporate dissolution. Every asset acquired through the 2011 project will be liquidated and placed into a multi-billion-dollar restitution trust managed by the victims' families."

Kenneth backed away, his eyes wild as he realized his private army couldn't save him from a global broadcast. He turned to flee off the back of the stage, only to be met by a wall of federal agents who had just breached the building, led by Julian Vance.

Handcuffs clicked over Kenneth’s wrists. As they dragged him away past the podium, he looked at Alexander, his voice filled with a bitter defeat. "You destroyed your own kingdom for a housekeeper."

Alexander looked toward the stage doors, where Maya was stepping out from the basement stairs, her face clean, her head held high, looking like the true queen of the valley she had saved.

"No, Kenneth," Alexander said softly, his voice echoing through the silent room. "I didn't destroy a kingdom. I finally cleaned my house."
