Chapter 7 - Shadows and Healing

In the weeks following the arrest of Garrett Holloway, the legal storm swept through the city like a hurricane.

The evidence Sienna and Damian had uncovered led to thirty-four federal indictments across the financial and political sectors. Caleb Cross was posthumously awarded the FBI’s highest honor for courage and integrity, his name restored in national headlines as a hero who had brought down one of the largest criminal syndicates in East Coast history.

Sienna stood in the quiet green hills of a cemetery in Brooklyn, dressed in a simple navy coat, laying a bouquet of white lilies on Caleb’s grave.

The autumn wind blew softly, carrying the smell of rain and fresh earth.

"We did it, Caleb," she whispered, touching the carved letters on the headstone. "It's done."

Footsteps approached quietly behind her. Damian walked up, holding a long black umbrella over her to block the soft drizzle. He didn't speak; he simply stood by her side, offering his quiet, unwavering strength.

Sienna turned to him, sliding her hand into his warm coat pocket, intertwining her fingers with his.

"What happens now?" she asked softly, looking up at his handsome face. "The ghost is gone. Sienna Cross doesn't have to hide anymore."

Damian looked down at her, his gray eyes filled with a tenderness that still took her breath away. "Sienna Cross can do whatever she wants. She can return to Columbia, take her bar exam, become the top prosecutor in the state... or she can run Vance Logistics by my side."

Sienna smiled, leaning her head against his shoulder. "Is that an official job offer, Mr. Vance?"

"It’s more than a job offer, Sienna," Damian murmured, kissing the crown of her head. "It’s a life offer."
