Chapter 6 - The Broken Crown

"Sebastian!" Senator Hart screamed, ducking behind his chair.

"Call security!" shouted another board member.

"Security works for me," Marcus Vance announced coldly, stepping in front of the boardroom doors and crossing his arms, blocking any escape.

Arthur Vale did not blink. He stared down the barrel of the gun held by his grandson, his face pale, but his arrogance intact.

"You won't shoot me, Sebastian," Arthur said quietly. "You are a Vale. You don't throw your life away for passion."

"You don't know what I am anymore, Arthur," Sebastian whispered, his finger tightening slightly on the trigger. "You built me into a monster. Did you really think the monster wouldn't turn on its creator?"

The tension in the room was so thick it was suffocating. I could see the internal struggle waging inside Sebastian—the agonizing choice between cold, bloody vengeance and the future we might still have.

"Sebastian, stop," I whispered, stepping beside him and gently resting my hand over his trembling gun arm.

He glanced at me, his eyes wild and tortured. "Maya... he stole four years of our children's lives."

"I know," I said softly, lowering his arm down until the gun pointed at the floor. "And he will pay for every single second. But not like this. Don't let him turn you into a murderer. Don't let him take your future away from Noah, Ivy, and Owen."

At the mention of our children's names, the rage in Sebastian's eyes slowly began to recede, replaced by a profound, exhaustion-laden clarity.

He lowered the gun completely and tossed it onto the table.

"Marcus," Sebastian said, turning his back on his grandfather. "Execute Directive Omega."

Arthur’s eyes widened in genuine fear for the first time. "Directive Omega? You wouldn't dare... that would trigger a complete board dissolution!"

"Effective immediately," Sebastian announced, turning to the terrified board members, "I am exercising my 51% voting control of Vale Global. Arthur Vale is stripped of his title as Chairman. His security clearance is revoked. His assets within the family trust are frozen pending a full forensic audit for embezzlement and fraud."

Sebastian leaned over the table, getting inches away from his grandfather's face.

"You have one hour to clear your personal belongings from this building, Arthur," Sebastian said coldly. "If you ever attempt to contact Maya, my children, or set foot on Vale property again, I will personally hand the SEC and the FBI the evidence of your offshore money laundering. You will spend the rest of your life dying in a federal prison cell."

Arthur slumped back into his chair, looking suddenly very old, very fragile, and completely defeated. The empire he had spent sixty years building had just stripped him of his crown in less than ten minutes.

Sebastian turned to me, taking my hand in his.

"Let's go home to our children, Maya," he said softly.
