Chapter 9 - The Fall of Ivory

The boardroom went completely silent. Mr. Tan and the Singaporean investors stood up in utter astonishment, looking from Wesley to the trembling woman in the ivory suit.
"This is absurd!" Evelyn shrieked, her polished corporate mask completely shattering into ugly, desperate rage. "This woman is an unhinged, bankrupt failure who has been harassing my family for years! She has no proof of anything!"
Sarah Vance stepped forward. Her voice didn't shake. It was clear, powerful, and echoed with five years of suppressed truth.
"I don't need to prove anything to you, Evelyn," Sarah said calmly, reaching into her leather portfolio and placing a thick stack of original laboratory journals and raw patent filings onto the table in front of Mr. Tan. "These are the original hand-drawn chemical synthesis diagrams signed and notarized by my father, Dr. Richard Vance, two years before you set fire to our warehouse."
"You lying bitch!" Arthur Shaw screamed, lunging forward to grab the documents, but Marcus caught him by his collar, slamming him face-first onto the mahogany table and pulling his arms behind his back.
"Arthur Shaw," the lead FBI agent announced, stepping forward with handcuffs. "You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder, illegal bribery of municipal utility workers, and chemical poisoning."
"Evelyn Shaw," the second agent declared, stepping up to the terrified vice president. "Hands behind your back."
"No! No!" Evelyn screamed, thrashing as the cold steel handcuffs clicked tightly around her manicured wrists. She turned her desperate, bloodshot eyes toward Wesley. "Wesley! Please! Think about Quantum! Think about our stock price! If you do this publicly, the company will lose billions!"
Wesley looked at her, his expression as cold and unforgiving as marble.
"Quantum Enterprises was built to create a legacy, Evelyn," Wesley said softly. "You built yours on the blood of an innocent family. I’d rather lose every dollar I own than let a monster like you sit in my building for one more second."
The FBI agents dragged Evelyn and her brother out of the boardroom. Her high-pitched screams echoed down the long glass corridors until the heavy double doors clicked shut, leaving the room in profound, peaceful silence.
Wesley turned to Mr. Tan and his team, bowing his head slightly. "Mr. Tan, I apologize for the dramatic disturbance. The technology presented to you today was indeed stolen. However, Sarah Vance is the true owner and sole creator of this platform. If you wish to proceed with a real partnership directly with Ms. Vance and Quantum, we would be honored."

Mr. Tan looked at the original patent documents, then looked at Sarah Vance, a warm, deep smile spreading across his face.
"Mr. Davis," Mr. Tan said gently, extending his hand. "My company invests in technology, but more importantly, we invest in integrity. We will gladly sign with Ms. Vance."
