Chapter 6 - The Staged Funeral

Two days later, news shocked the elite social circles of Mexico City.
Breaking News: Tragic Fire Destroys Abandoned Warehouse in Toluca; Remains Believed to Be Battered Wife of Billionaire Alejandro Aranda.
At the grand Cathedral of San Agustín, Doña Esther and Marcela sat in the front row dressed in immaculate designer mourning attire. Esther wiped away fake tears for the cameras, holding court before dozens of wealthy guests and news reporters.
"We tried to help her," Esther wept to a reporter outside the cathedral steps. "She was deeply disturbed, poor girl. The stress of the pregnancy was too much for her fragile mind..."
Suddenly, six black Federal Police SUVs pulled up to the plaza, blocking every exit.
Sirens wailed across the square.
Dozens of heavily armed federal agents poured out, surrounding the church steps. The crowd went dead silent.
Esther smoothed her dress, stepping forward with her trademark condescending smile. "What is the meaning of this? This is a private family memorial! My son is the owner of Aranda Enterprises!"
"Not anymore, Mother," a voice echoed from the rear SUV.
The door opened. Alejandro stepped out, looking immaculate in a charcoal suit. He walked around to the passenger side, opening the door.
He extended his hand, and Valeria stepped out beside him. She wore a stunning cream-colored maternity dress, her head held high, looking vibrant, strong, and beautiful.
