Chapter 3 - The Secret Investor

Abby didn't return to the cleaning agency the next day. She expected a termination notice, or worse, a false police report accusing her of theft. Instead, a sleek black town car was waiting outside her apartment building the following morning, and a polite man in a gray suit handed her an official document.
It wasn't a pink slip. It was an employment contract.
Julian hadn't fired her; he had promoted her. Not as a housekeeper, but as his personal estate manager—and more importantly, as the director of a new philanthropic initiative he was launching. Julian had spent the entire night reviewing Abby’s background: her father’s medical files, her brother’s college transcripts, her relentless work ethic. He realized that while he had been busy trying to prove humanity was corrupt, Abby had been proving that resilience and honor still existed.
