Chapter 6 - The Trap is Sprung

The annual Cross Corp charity auction was the biggest corporate event of the season. Behind the flashing cameras and glittering diamonds, Abby and Julian set their trap. They leaked a falsified internal audit report suggesting that the foundation's accounts were vulnerable and unmonitored.
True to form, Richard Vance took the bait.
Late in the evening, while the ballroom was filled with music and dancing, Abby slipped into the executive finance office on the top floor of the tower. She carried her old cleaning cart—repurposed for the night—acting as cover as she made her way to Richard’s private terminal.
The door clicked open. Richard stepped inside, locking it behind him, and immediately sat at his desk, hurriedly attempting to initiate a massive wire transfer to his offshore account to cover his tracks before morning.
“Working late, Richard?” a calm, deep voice echoed from the shadows of the office.

Julian stepped into the light, flanked by corporate security and federal investigators. Richard went completely pale, his hands freezing over the keyboard.
Abby stepped out from behind a partition, holding a secure flash drive containing the exact digital footprint of his crime. “The game is over, Richard.”
