With the fortune fully restored and their security permanently guaranteed, Mariana turned her attention to the promise she had made to herself during her darkest nights in the valley. She didn't want to just enjoy her wealth; she wanted to turn it into a shield for others.

She established the Fundación Mateo—a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal, psychological, and financial aid to mothers who had their children unlawfully taken from them by wealthy, influential families.

The carriage house at the back of the Coyoacán estate was completely renovated into the foundation's headquarters. Brilliant attorneys like Natalia Torres were hired full-time, their salaries paid entirely by the Valenzuela trust, to fight cases that the state legal system often ignored.

On a bright Tuesday morning, the foundation opened its doors for the first time. Mariana sat at her new desk, the window behind her looking out over the rose garden where Mateo and Toby were playing.

Her first client was a young woman named Sofia, a waitress from Puebla whose wealthy ex-husband had used bribed police officers to take her four-year-old daughter away three months prior. Sofia sat across from Mariana, her shoulders hunched, her eyes hollow with the exact same grief Mariana had carried for two long years.

"They told me I can't fight them, Mrs. Valenzuela," Sofia sobbed, clutching a wrinkled photograph of her daughter against her chest. "They said because I have no money and no name, the law doesn't see me."

Mariana reached across the desk, taking Sofia's trembling hands into her own. She didn't offer abstract corporate platitudes. She looked straight into the woman's eyes with a fierce, absolute candor.

"Look at me, Sofia," Mariana said, her voice steady and full of an unyielding power. "I used to be a housekeeper. I used to clean the floors of the people who stole my son. They are powerful, yes. But they are built on lies. We are built on love. And I promise you, we are going to bring your daughter home."
