Over the next month, we transformed the house. We dragged Beatrice’s expensive, fraud-funded furniture to the curb. We repainted the walls from dark, heavy colors to bright, clean creams and whites.
Noah’s room was redecorated with a massive dinosaur mural, and his laughter returned to the hallways, bouncing off the walls that had once witnessed so much silence.
