Chapter 9 - Retribution
Justice was swift and unyielding.
The judge delivered the final verdict before a packed courtroom:
Eleanor Vance: Sentenced to 22 years in state prison for attempted murder, aggravated cruelty, and financial fraud, with no possibility of parole for 15 years. All personal assets confiscated and auctioned to pay full restitution to Clara.
Julian Vance: Sentenced to 18 years for corporate espionage, conspiracy, and embezzlement.
As Eleanor was led away in chains, she looked at me, weeping and begging for forgiveness.
"Sebastian! I'm your mother! You can't leave me to die in prison!"
