Chapter 4 - Freezing the Assets

By noon, the psychological warfare began to take effect.

Javier Robles sat in his high-rise office in downtown Dallas, trying to prepare for a major corporate deposition, when his primary computer screen went completely black. A single notification popped up: All operational accounts suspended by executive order of the primary creditor.

Alexander didn't just sue them; he bought the debt they owed. Over the past five years, Carmen Robles had taken out massive, high-interest private loans from a secondary financial institution called Texas Vanguard Capital. By 10:30 AM, Alexander had purchased Texas Vanguard Capital for cash.

He was now the sole owner of the Robles family’s debt.

The Domino EffectI watched from the apartment window as Alexander’s legal team systematically dismantled their life. Jonathan Vance filed an emergency ex-parte injunction in the Dallas County District Court, citing immediate physical danger and financial coercion of a minor heir (since Sofia was under twenty-five, a clause in her father's trust protected her assets from marital commingling).

The judge, a long-time associate of Alexander’s legal network, signed the order immediately.

Asset Freeze: Every bank account tied to Carmen Robles, Javier Robles, and Robles & Associates was frozen instantly under suspicious fraud protocols.

Property Seizure: A temporary receivership was placed on Carmen’s luxury estate in Highland Park.

Vehicle Repo: Javier’s leased Porsche Panamera was flagged for immediate repossession due to secondary security violations.

My phone rang. It was an unknown number. I answered, knowing it would be them.

"Elena! You insane bitch!" Carmen Robles’ voice was no longer smooth or smelling of expensive perfume. It was a screech of pure, unadulterated panic. "What have you done? My credit cards are declined! The bank says my accounts are under forensic review! Who do you think you are?"

"I am the mother of the girl you beat forty times," I said, my voice completely steady, hardened by the strength of my daughter's survival. "And the man standing next to me is the father you thought wouldn't care."

"Tell Alexander to stop this!" Carmen yelled, and I could hear the sound of wind rushing past her—she was outside, likely stranded somewhere because her luxury life had been turned off. "Javier is a respected attorney! We have connections! We can destroy your daughter's name before the week is out! We'll say she's crazy! We'll say she attacked us!"

"You can try, Carmen," I said quietly. "But you might want to look at the news first."

I hung up. Alexander had already released the video footage to the local media outlets. Not the footage of the beating—that was being saved for the grand jury—but the footage of Javier standing outside the hotel room door like a cowardly sentinel while his mother committed a felony.
