Chapter 10 - THE TRUE DIAMOND

One year later.
The Pacific coastline of Maui was bathed in the golden light of a setting sun. The sound of gentle waves rolling onto the white sand created a natural symphony as classical violin music floated through the air.
Gathered under a grand canopy of white orchids and tropical blooms were two hundred of the Carter family’s closest friends, international partners, and loyal employees.
At the head of the aisle stood Marcus Thorne, looking dashing in a tailored charcoal suit. Beside him stood Richard Carter, who was beaming with unbridled joy.
The music shifted to a breathtaking rendition of Canon in D.
Every guest stood up as Naomi Carter walked down the aisle, holding her father’s arm. She wore a bespoke silk wedding dress with delicate lace detailing and a flowing train that caught the ocean breeze. She looked breathtakingly radiant—a woman who had reclaimed her life, her power, and her heart.
As Richard walked Naomi to the altar, he placed her hand into Marcus’s. "Take care of my true diamond, Marcus," Richard said emotionally.
"With my life, sir," Marcus promised faithfully.
The ceremony was intimate and deeply moving. As they exchanged vows they had written themselves, there was not a single dry eye among the guests.
"Naomi," Marcus said, holding her hands tightly. "A year ago, I watched you turn an act of public cruelty into an unforgettable display of grace and strength. You taught me how to trust again. I promise to cherish you, honor you, and walk beside you through every storm and every victory."
Naomi smiled, tears of joy dancing on her eyelashes. "Marcus, you came into my life when I thought strength meant standing alone. You proved to me that real love doesn't dim your light—it magnifies it. I give you my heart, my trust, and my forever."
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant declared. "You may kiss the bride!"
Marcus wrapped his arms around Naomi, lifting her slightly as he kissed her with deep, passionate devotion. The guests erupted into joyous applause and cheers, tossing white rose petals into the air.
Later that night, during the outdoor reception under a sky full of stars, Naomi and Marcus took the floor for their first dance.
As they glided across the polished wooden floor, Richard stood up to deliver a toast. He held a crystal glass in one hand, while on the table beside him sat a velvet-lined display case holding the famous Carter Diamond.
"To my daughter, Naomi," Richard said, his voice echoing warmly through the speaker system. "Many years ago, my family believed that this diamond was the most valuable asset we possessed. But over the last year, watching Naomi rise from betrayal, destroy an empire of deceit, and lead our family to victory, I realized something."
Richard looked at his daughter with endless love. "The diamond in the glass is just a stone. The true diamond of the Carter family has always been my daughter—indestructible, brilliant, and impossible to break."
The crowd raised their glasses, cheering enthusiastically: "To Naomi and Marcus!"
As the dance continued, Marcus pulled Naomi close, dipping her gently under the starlight.
"Happy, Mrs. Thorne?" Marcus whispered against her lips.
Naomi looked up at the man who loved her unconditionally, then at her father, and finally out at the ocean horizon stretching into an unlimited, beautiful future.
