Because of her age and lack of prior convictions, the judge sentenced her to eight years in state prison, followed by ten years of strict probation, with mandatory restitution of $142,000 to be paid from her liquidated assets.

Aunt Betsy, Uncle Richard, and Cousin Mason reached an out-of-court settlement with my legal team. They surrendered their rights to family inheritances, paid back every dollar of the stolen money they had received, and signed permanent restraining orders forbidding them from ever coming within 1,000 feet of my family.

The poisonous web that had suffocated my life for months was finally dismantled.

I took three months off from my engineering firm. I hired a full-time landscaping team to completely tear up the backyard, replacing the old patio with a beautiful, sunlit garden, a custom playground for Frederick, and a spacious wooden deck.

I bought Amy a brand-new SUV, registered solely under her name, ensuring she would never feel trapped or helpless ever again.
