Chapter 9 - The Real Vows
Six months later.
The sun was setting over the hills of Napa Valley, casting a warm golden light across the endless vineyards of the Kang Private Estate.
Unlike the corporate gala months ago, this event was small, intimate, and filled with genuine laughter.
In the front row sat Tessa’s grandmother, Maeve, crying happy tears alongside Tessa’s younger brother, Toby, who was now healthy, standing tall, and laughing with Jin.
Under a canopy of white roses and weeping willows stood Adrian. He wore a midnight-blue tuxedo, looking impossibly handsome, his eyes locked onto the far end of the aisle.
The string quartet began to play a gentle, melodious tune.
Tessa stepped onto the aisle, leaning on her brother Toby's arm. She wore a breathtaking vintage lace gown with a long flowing train, her hair styled in soft, natural curls, holding a bouquet of white peonies and lavender.
As she reached the altar, Toby handed her hand over to Adrian.
"Take care of her, Ice King," Toby whispered with a mischievous grin.
"With my life," Adrian promised solemnly.
The minister smiled at the couple. "We are gathered here today to unite Adrian Kang and Tessa Morgan in holy matrimony. You may now read your vows."
Adrian took Tessa’s hands in his. He pulled a small piece of paper from his pocket, looked at it, and then promptly dropped it onto the grass.
The guests chuckled softly.
"I wrote three pages of executive vows," Adrian said, looking directly into Tessa’s eyes, his voice thick with emotion. "But none of it matters. Six months ago, a girl crashed into my life and destroyed a four-million-dollar sports car. I thought I was demanding a debt from her. I didn't realize that I was the one in debt. Tessa, you paid for my broken heart with your courage, your laughter, and your boundless love. You taught me that life isn't a risk to be managed, but a gift to be lived. I give you my heart, my soul, and my entire life. Forever."
Tessa wiped a tear from her cheek, smiling brightly through her tears.
"Adrian," Tessa began, squeezing his hands tightly. "When I hit your car, I thought my life was over. I thought I had run into a cold, heartless billionaire who was going to ruin my family. But instead, I found the most fierce, loyal, and loving man I have ever known. You built a wall to protect yourself from the world, but you were brave enough to let me tear it down. I don't care about the mansions, the cars, or the money. I only care about you. I love you, Adrian Kang."

"By the power vested in me," the minister declared, smiling broadly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"
Adrian didn't hesitate. He pulled Tessa into his arms, dipping her dramatically as he kissed her to the thunderous applause and cheers of their family and friends.
