Chapter 10 - The True Kingdom

One year later.

The Moretti family estate outside the city was bathed in the warm, golden light of a crisp autumn sunset.

The heavy iron perimeter gates—once a symbol of fear, isolation, and mafia defense—were left open, framed by blooming orange maples and rustling oak trees.

On the sweeping back lawn overlooking the private lake, a large family celebration was underway.

Dozens of guests were gathered around long wooden tables draped in white linen, illuminated by twinkling fairy lights strung through the trees. Captains from the syndicate, charity board directors, university professors, and close friends were laughing, drinking fine Italian wine, and celebrating the annual anniversary of the Seraphina Moretti Foundation.

At the center of the main table sat Seraphina.

She looked radiant, laughing happily as Dr. Harris showed her photographs of the new pediatric medical wing built in downtown. Sitting beside her was a young, brilliant pediatric surgeon named Dr. Julian Vance—a kind, gentle man whom Seraphina had met through her foundation work six months earlier, and whose warm hazel eyes matched the bright future she was building.

Vincent stood on the stone terrace above the lawn, holding a glass of aged whiskey, watching the scene below.

Marcus walked up beside him, handing him an encrypted leather dossier.

"The final audit from Zurich came through, Boss," Marcus reported with a quiet smile. "The Bennett Trust has been fully integrated into the Foundation's international endowment. We are completely legitimate across three continents. The federal authorities have closed every remaining file on the Moretti name."

Vincent took the dossier, setting it on the stone balustrade without opening it.

"We don't need files anymore, Marcus," Vincent said softly, his dark eyes fixed entirely on his sister’s laughing face down on the lawn.

"No, Boss," Marcus agreed warmly. "We have a family."

Seraphina caught Vincent looking at her from the terrace. She excused herself from the table, picked up her dress, and ran up the stone steps toward him, her laughter carrying like music through the evening air.

She threw her arms around Vincent’s broad shoulders, leaning against him as they looked out together over the warm, glowing lawn, the sparkling lake, and the peaceful, open gates of their estate.

"What are you thinking about, my dark king?" Seraphina teased playfully, nudging his arm.

Vincent looked down at her—at his half-sister, his blood, the girl who had collapsed in his arms in the freezing rain with no name, no memory, and a tarnished silver pendant.

He wrapped his strong arm around her waist, pulling her close against his side, his heart filled with a deep, unbreakable peace he had never known in his entire life.

"I was thinking," Vincent whispered, his voice rich with quiet, absolute happiness, "that a stranger once died in the rain without a name... so that a princess could wake up and claim her kingdom."

Seraphina smiled, resting her head against his shoulder as the golden sun dipped below the horizon, casting its final, dazzling rays over the Moretti home—a home built on blood, saved by love, and forever protected by the lion who ruled it.
