Chapter 7 - The Trial of Blood and Steel

Knowing he was exposed, Victor Rossi made his move before Gabriel could strike.

Using forged corporate resolutions and backed by the armed enforcement of the Falcone syndicate, Rossi launched a hostile takeover of Moretti Enterprises, freezing Gabriel's main corporate liquidity accounts and filing an emergency injunction with corrupt judges to seize control of the shipping ports.

By Friday afternoon, Gabriel’s headquarters was surrounded by news crews, legal teams, and syndicate enforcers.

Inside the top-floor executive conference room, Gabriel assembled his loyal captains, legal advisors, and Emma.

"Rossi thinks he has trapped us financially," Gabriel told his team, spreading a blueprint of Moretti Tower across the table. "He froze our primary bank accounts in New York. But he forgot one thing."

"What?" Marco asked.

"My father established an off-shore reserve trust thirty years ago," Gabriel explained. "The hard key and physical encryption drive are stored in the family vault beneath the estate."

"Then we retrieve it and cut off his liquidity before he can buy off the port authorities," Emma suggested.

"Rossi knows about the trust," Gabriel warned. "He has already sent Falcone's men to watch the estate grounds. Moving between here and Greenwich is suicide."

Emma stepped forward, her eyes bright with determination. "They are watching you and your guards, Gabriel. They aren't watching me."

Gabriel immediately shook his head. "No. Absolutely not. I will not put you in danger again."

"Listen to me," Emma insisted, taking his hand in front of all his captains. "They think I'm just a helpless nanny. I can slip past the outer perimeter in a non-descript delivery van with Marco. I know every secret passage in that house because I cleaned it for six months."

Gabriel looked into her eyes, seeing no fear—only fierce, unshakeable devotion to him and his children.

"If anything happens to you..." Gabriel whispered.

"Nothing will happen," Emma promised. "Trust me."
