The wedding was nothing like the high-society circus the Cole family had historically orchestrated. It was intimate, sacred, and filled with genuine warmth.
Held in the same lush rose garden where Nathan had proposed, the ceremony was attended only by close friends, trusted colleagues like Richard Hale, and the families they had helped through the Lily Foundation.
Lily walked down the aisle as flower girl, scattering white rose petals with intense concentration, wearing a miniature ivory dress that matched Grace’s elegant gown.
As Grace walked down the stone pathway on the arm of her brother—who had finally finished his medical residency thanks to the family’s renewed stability—Nathan waited at the altar. He wore a sharp, classic tuxedo, but his expression was entirely relaxed, illuminated by a smile so bright it outshone the afternoon sun.
When they exchanged their vows, they didn't speak of business mergers, corporate assets, or family dynasties.
“I promise to protect you, to cherish you, and to love you through every storm,” Nathan vowed, sliding the gold band onto her finger.
“I promise to stand by your side, to laugh with you, and to build a home where love is never a condition,” Grace replied, her voice ringing with absolute clarity.
When the minister pronounced them husband and wife, Nathan kissed her deeply, the cheers of their loved ones echoing into the evening sky.
Later that night, as the reception wound down and Lily fell asleep soundly in her grandparents' temporary care, Nathan and Grace stood together on the balcony of the master suite, looking out over the sprawling estate.
The wind whispered through the oak trees, carrying the scent of autumn and new beginnings.
Nathan wrapped his arms around Grace, resting his chin on her head as she leaned back against him, looking up at the glittering expanse of stars.
