Chapter 9 - The Wedding at Olive Grove

The wedding took place on a glorious Saturday morning in late spring.
The ceremony was held on the high cliff terrace of Villa Vane, overlooking the sweeping green valleys of Tuscany under a cloudless blue sky. White roses and olive branches wrapped around the stone pillars, filling the warm breeze with a delicate, sweet fragrance.
Only fifty close friends, foundation staff, and security team members were invited—the people who had helped us build our sanctuary.
I walked down the stone aisle wearing an elegant white silk gown with delicate lace sleeves, holding a bouquet of wild lilies and white roses. Marcus stood near the front row, looking proud in a formal dark suit, while Maria wiped happy tears from her eyes.
Standing at the altar waiting for me was Julian. He looked impossibly handsome in a black tuxedo, his gray eyes shining with an emotion so deep it took my breath away.
Beside him stood four-year-old Maya in a pale pink flower-girl dress, holding a basket of rose petals, while a handsome fourteen-month-old Leo sat in a decorated wooden wagon, wearing a tiny black bow tie, clapping his little hands.
When I reached Julian, he took my hands in his, his fingers warm, strong, and steady.
We spoke our own vows.
“Julian,” I said, my voice echoing clearly over the peaceful valley. “A year ago, I entered your life in the middle of a storm at thirty thousand feet. You gave me safety when I had nothing left, and you showed me that real love doesn't hurt—it protects. I promise to stand by you, honor you, and love you and our children for all the days of my life.”
Julian slipped the sparkling gold band onto my finger, his eyes locked onto mine with fierce, eternal devotion.

“Clara,” Julian whispered, his voice thick with deep emotion. “You were the answer to a prayer I didn't even know how to speak. You brought light back into my dark world. I promise to cherish you, guard your heart, and love you with everything I am, today, tomorrow, and forever.”
The priest pronounced us husband and wife, and as Julian pulled me into a deep, passionate kiss, the entire courtyard erupted in cheers and applause.
