Chapter 4 - The Truth Unveiled

A sudden, breathless hush fell over the entire room. The guests held their breath as the automated system began expanding the decrypted files across the giant screen for all two hundred attendees and board members to see.

It was not a ballet video.

It was a comprehensive forensic audit containing bank transactions, signed wire transfers, and audio recordings.

Evelyn’s voice suddenly filled the ballroom, crystal clear and resonant, floating down from the surround-sound speakers:

"If you are listening to this, Nathaniel, it means our little code worked, and you have finally found the truth. I am so sorry I couldn't tell you in person, my love. Julian found out I discovered his theft of seventy million dollars from the foundation's medical research funds. When I threatened to go to the federal authorities, he ensured my food and supplements were laced with toxic thallium compounds. My doctors were paid off by Vanguard Holdings to report it as an aggressive autoimmune disease. He threatened Eli’s life if I spoke. Do not weep for me, Nathaniel. Fight for our son. Expose him."

The room erupted into absolute chaos.

Board members gasped, women covered their mouths in horror, and reporters immediately began flashing their cameras frantically toward Julian Vance.

"This is a forgery! A deepfake fabricated by a desperate, grieving lunatic!" Julian screamed, his face contorted in rage and panic. He turned to run toward the grand exit, but the massive double doors swung open before he could reach them.

Four armed officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, accompanied by Greenwich police units, swept into the hall with handcuffs drawn.

"Julian Vance," the lead federal agent announced, his voice booming over the commotion. "You are under arrest for federal wire fraud, embezzlement, corporate espionage, and first-degree murder."

Julian backed away, his eyes wild, looking around the room for an escape that didn't exist. As the officers pinned him against the marble pillar and snapped the handcuffs onto his wrists, his venomous gaze fell upon me and Sophia.

"You..." Julian spat, staring at my daughter with pure malice. "A maid's child... ruined everything..."

Nathaniel stepped between Julian and my daughter, his towering frame completely cutting off Julian's view. "Take him out of my house," Nathaniel said softly, his tone carrying a icy authority that chilled the entire room.

As the police dragged Julian away to the sound of snapping cameras and furious whispers from the board, Nathaniel walked over to the stage. He knelt down in front of Sophia, ignoring the overwhelming chaos of reporters and guests surrounding them.

"You were perfect, little dancer," Nathaniel whispered, his voice cracking with intense emotion.

Sophia reached out and gently patted his cheek with her small hand. "Did the dancing lady fix it?"

"Yes," Nathaniel choked back a tear, pulling Sophia into a protective, warm hug. "She fixed everything."
